Born in Newcastle Upon Tyne I graduated in Fine Art from The University of Reading.

I began designing for the stage at The Mercury Theatre Colchester, then moved to The Belgrade Theatre Coventry designing productions for the main stage, the studio and also for the Theatre in Education company. After two years as resident designer at Oldham Coliseum Theatre I became freelance, designing most of the children's productions for The Birmingham Stage Company which is now based in Regent Street, London.

I have continued to design many productions, and in 2006 I was also Art Director for the events in The Palace gardens at The Queen's 80th Birthday celebrations.

Some of my recent designs have embraced the newest computer generated technology. Together with Amazing Interactives based in Middlesborough, we have used 3D animation for the stage adaptations of some of Terry Deary's Horrible History books, and also for the stage production of Horrible Science.

I live in the Midlands with my husband Andrew who is a sculptor and our two boys Arthur and Alfie.
